[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - Shadow]
[Added] 5w337! The boxes in my house that I suspected to contain manga do contain manga. The rest of X, first 6 of Tokyo Babylon, the rest of Hot Gimmick, Count Cain, Hikaru no Go and manga phonebooks. Sad thing is that Executive Committee is missing and I suspect those two are the volumes that the store couldn't order for me because their source in Japan has absolutely none in stock and will not until a new printing (which is far away) comes along. ;_; I was so looking forward to reading EC in Japanese. Must wait until I go back to Hong Kong to order them again, that is, if there is EC to order. >_< Now I got to figure out how to fit X into the shelves... [/Added]
Party. Pacific Mall. Orbit. DDM. DDR. Karmen and ParaPara. (ha! Gotcha!) More DDR at my place with langey's PS2. Mahjogg. Chez Geek. Kingdom Hearts. Meow...rules and penalty cards. Exchange of presents: underwear, Val? Santa Stitch. Vince, ICQ, feeding of food and 3v1l-ness. Ping pong. TV crashing over. >_< More Chez Geek and Meow. People leaving. Quieter-ness. Fuzziness which I cannot remember what happened. More quieter-ness. DWI. Lots of DWI. No sleeping. Drinking of Jolt-espresso. More DWI. Orgy and "groping." LOL. Bat and blanket. 7 a.m. Sleepiness. Wake up. 1 p.m. More dry swimming and DWI. t00bing around my basement for four hours. Greg coming over. Sohni and Matt picking up stuff and being scared by our "orgy." More t00bing around. Byebye.
I'm exhausted right now. No more "orgies" please; Ivan and Karmen wore me out. The rug burn on my elbow stings and my shoulders are tense and sore. Greg was/is frightened. More corruption is in order, I believe, Karmen. ^_~
Get your mind out of the gutter, you pervert. =P
Thanks everyone who came. Sorry to any who didn't come. Wish you were there.
Now I really need to sleep tonight. Screw the countdown. It's two thousand bloody three already for me. *waves before collapsing into bed*
[Monday, December 30, 2002 | 12:06 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Card Captor Sakura - Groovy!]
Party today.
*panicpanicpanic*
Worst-case scenarios pop up at the last minute.
<_< >_> Gah! Must keep calm.
[Saturday, December 28, 2002 | 12:02 a.m.]
[Theme muzak: Stereophonics - Have a Nice Day]
Specifics for party: Meet at Pacific Mall, outside orbit at 1:30 on December 30. Eventually will move to my house (around Hwy 7 and Warden), so people must bring some cars. Some drivers may have to make two trips.
Bring fun things like consoles, Chez Geek, anime, party thingies, etc. Exchange of presents will take place too. I understand not everyone knows everyone else or well enough, but I hope that present-exchanging will not dampen some people's spirits.
Transportation back to your places is up to you. Sleeping over is allowed if you want to stay late. If you don't want to sleep, but want to stay, that's ok too! XD
Busy last couple of days. Played pool and mahjog numerous times, hung out with friends, and watched a couple of movies, including Two Towers finally. I am getting luckier at pool and mahjogg and spending a fairly good amount of time out.
TTT fairly good, Gollum excellent. Aragorn is very unwashed and manly and Legolas is still nancy elf-y as ever, but one who kicks arse in battle. They go very well together. ^_~ I like the camraderie between Legolas and Gimli as well; cheap short jokes with Gimli, but still amusing. TTT didn't hit me with a "WOW!", but kind of a "Oh, okay." It was all right, but I'm not going to go see it again.
Ok, I kind of like RO now. Played it a bit on Ivan's laptop, now kind of want to play it. Also like DWI. Also played it on Ivan's laptop.
Conclusion: I want RO and DWI on my computer and damn you Ivan!
Finished reading Mankin 21 and 22. YES! YESYESYES! XD Also finished reading Bleach 05. Ishida r0xx0r5! Hm...Ichigo/Ishida sounds interesting. Just as interesting as Ichigo x Rukia. Also read TenniPuri 6 and 7. Yay Seigaku! Hm...Tezuka/Ryouma interesting possibility. Need TenniPuri anime.
Must do ISP proposal and finish reading 1984.
[Wednesday, December 25, 2002 | 02:08 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Adeste Fideles]
When political correctness is taken a bit too far.
Merry generic non-denominational, absolutely non-specific to any religion, race, nation and in any way, shape or form, etc. 25th of December everyone!
It appears we have a white Chr--, er, I mean, it appears snow has fallen on this Wednesday of the third week of December, which makes it very wintry and sorta pretty to look at.
Hope you all enjoy your joyful day in late December dinners.
Merry Christmas.
[Sunday, December 22, 2002 | 05:18 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - Butterfly]
I'm back.
I'm kind of twitchy and energetic right now. Really want to see everyone and give many, many hugs.
Went to see McGill, very nice, cosy campus. I like, except everything is damp and wet, but hey, better than Kingston, right? Would be cool if I went to McGill, but going to knock on wood right now.
Got a nice small stash of goods. Some jeans, a sweatshirt and the best thing: black boots. Square-toed black boots that I've been way too lazy to buy. Now all I need are some heeled black boots to look taller in. XD Need to go boots shopping!
Saw one really cool store in Montreal where they had the coolest black boots ever. Didn't go in, but the BSS people will know what kind of platform black boots they are because they had buckles, laces, springs, supremely high heels, the whole works! Not just one pair, but about ten pairs too, all of them amazing.
The party? Yeah, that dilemma I was talking about before? Yeah, it just got wiped out by another problem.
birdy, add Matt and Eric to that list.
*hugs to everyone*
[Thursday, December 19, 2002 | 09:06 a.m.]
[Theme muzak: TaQ - Era]
I'm tired, but rather relaxed. Mmm...finished all my essays last night at 3 am, got 3 hours of sleep, not too bad considering all things. Just gotta make it through til 2:30, school and rehearsal, then I'm going home to relax for an hour. Then back to school for grad/staff dinner, carol service and go back home. Perhaps I'll get some DDRing in too, if things work out for the best.
Tomorrow morning, I'm going to Montreal, so see you all later, I will not be blogging and oh my god, it just occured to me I will not have a computer.
No webcomics. No fanfics. No Minesweeper! Gah...
But Montreal will make up for it, I suppose. I'll just do a load of reading and listen to music.
I'll be back late Sunday night.
I need to go see Two Towers with some people. And I also need to go to Kikiwai to pick up my manga. Anyone up for a trip downtown sometime next week?
[Tuesday, December 17, 2002 | 11:21 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Our Lady Peace - Innocent]
I have MGS2! Whee!
I have finished my English essay, edited and revised and it is FINISHED! YAY! One down, two to go.
Starting Philosophy essay. Actually not too difficult and paragraphs coming along fairly well. Have outline for that and rough outline for Mod West essay. I feel like I have decent grasp on workload now and am no longer having a nervous breakdown. That's a good thing.
I've skipped out on three offers to go see Two Towers because I have work. Feel a bit sad, but proud of myself. Will go ogle Aragorn's sweaty, unwashed manliness and Legolas' poncey elf-ness another day. ^_~
[Monday, December 16, 2002 | 01:36 a.m.]
[Theme muzak: Silence]
Well, there's a dilemma about the party on top of everything. birdy, when you can speak without too much pain call me please so we can sort it out?
I do believe this is Life 5uxx0r5/Hell Week and I am a pathetic individual. I don't know what to write for Philosophy and I will write utter crap. I hate essays and I wish I could go to sleep. FUCK LIFE. I know I can't do these essays well or on time. I hate myself for being lazy and procrastinating.
[Sunday, December 15, 2002 | 07:18 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: John Mayer - My Stupid Mouth]
I seem to be a little bit tipsy now.
*blinks* Must write English essay. Then Philosophy essay. Then Mod West essay.
Would rather jump off cliff. Think will go do that.
Whee! XD
[Saturday, December 14, 2002 | 10:16 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Porno Graffiti - Apollo]
I love Porno Graffiti's name. Sure there's been Malice Mizer, Shazna, X-Japan, but a band called Porno Graffiti? *snrk*
Trying so hard to read Tess of the D'Urbervilles. It's unexciting since I've read it before and disliked it immensely with all the literary taste of my 13 year-old soul back in the eighth grade. I did force myself to read it back then and it's the same now except I have to read it for English. Why couldn't we have studied Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray instead? It's difficult to get myself to read it. It's an irritating novel to read, content-wise and structure-wise. The excess verbosity of Hardy grates on my nerves and I know it was the time of the very long, one sentence paragraphs, but I prefer succint words, sentences and descriptions over flowery prose. Hardy writes like those showy, overly verbose fanfic writers that I despise and I can't help but go through the novel with a permanent eye twitch of annoyance. I've got a pretty good grasp of vocabulary, but I'm forced to go to the dictionary quite frequently.
And worst of all, he's driven me to speak in a wordy manner. Damn the man.
Finished American Gods today. Finally! This is the longest time I've taken to finish a book I really liked. I think I almost love it. Go read it, but only if you have a strong stomach. It's graphic with violence, sex, and various other unpleasant things at some parts, but it's definitely worth your time. Shadow, the protagonist, is someone like Achilles, a grand hero, but one who's down on his luck and doesn't know that he's a hero. However, he's not quite Achilles and he is vividly human. He's not a reluctant hero, merely one whose heroic nature is hidden from him and is revealed subtly and slowly to him, to the other characters, and to us. He's just as unknowledgable about the past, present and future as we are except at the end when he's struck with realization and then we are too. He's a bloody cool character. Needless to say, it's a fucking amazing book.
Yes, I could have complimented the book and Shadow without swearing, but the book asks for some extra admiration in that way. Now if I could like Tess the way I like American Gods, then English would be an easier subject to bear.
[Saturday, December 14, 2002 | 05:49 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Our Lady Peace- Somewhere Out There]
Three essays. Two was already x_X. Three? X_X + O_O
Mod West, Philosophy, and English. All due on Wednesday or Thursday. ARGH!
Hate work. And I have not written one word for all of them.
Want Xmas break now or I will break before then.
My optical mouse is being more than a bitch. It's more than a spawn of Satan. It's the right-hand demon of Satan. I know it. It's ruining my Minesweeper times and it's so goddamn random!
Hung out with Greg yesterday at Pacific. Did the usual arcade thing, tried to get rain, birdy and kitch out but they couldn't come. The IniD (Version 2! Whee!) machines were being hogged by a bunch of ricers, so we hopped over to Commerce, then to First Markham without playing anymore. Can you believe the DDR 5th Mix at Commerce is dusty? o_O
We bought presents for certain people and we still have to buy some more for other people. *cough* I really didn't intend to buy gifts for people since I'm not a Christmas person at all and I don't usually give or receive gifts but I just got sucked in.
I'm not a "Bah humbug" person, but more along the lines of "Xmas? Whatever. Break from school? WHEE!"
Got the Executive Committee OVA, which had a trailer for Wild Adapter. *fans face* Is that Tokitoh licking blood off of Kubota's finger? *grins*
[Wednesday, December 11, 2002 | 05:07 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Rubyhorse - Sparkle]
This comes a bit late in the day, but...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAIN!
*hugs*
My optical mouse is a spawn of Satan. Little bitch...
Minesweeper still has a death hold on my life. Whee!
Congrats again on the job, Ivan! You get to terrorize RSGC! XD
I'm...writing. I'm actually creatively writing again. Yes, it's difficult, slow and time-consuming, but I can write. All I need to do is to channel some energy into writing those goddamn Satan's spawn essays.
Ok...I need a photo and need to write my grad comment. Most annoying part is that it's only a small paragraph and we're not allowed initials or short forms for things because they're too "exclusive." All grads do that anyway and I'm writing an entire sentence in l337, which I seriously doubt most, if any, of the people who have the yearbook will understand.
Reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It's brilliant and I'm only a bit through. Need to read Smoke and Mirrors and Good Omens.
Finished Animal Farm by George Orwell. It left me kind of quiet and reflective and it's subtle, weaning its way through my mind. When I was in Mod West, taking notes on the French Revolution, I was firmly reminded of Animal Farm. I know it's an allegory of the rise of Communism and Stalin, but it's chilling when you realize that some events in the French Revolution are reflected in Animal Farm.
[Tuesday, December 10, 2002 | 10:47 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Matchbox Twenty - If You're Gone]
I have final details pertaining to the party. It's on December 30th, 2002, starting at 1 p.m. at my house. Transportation is up to you and if some people can drive and have cars, that would be good. Bring stuff like games, consoles, videos etc. but what's really important is some money. We're going to pool together money and buy food and drinks and that's when the cars come in handy or we're going to be doing a lot of heavy-weight walking.
Stuff that people might want to *hinthint* bring, that is if you're coming. (You better...)
langey: your mod'd PS2 and games
Kitch or Gigi: Chez Geek
birdy and Ivan: Totoros?
And people can bring holiday treats or whatever. People with fruitcakes will be promptly ejected from the premises and forced to find their own way back from the boonies. Muwahahahahahahahaha!
For my address and directions of how to get to my house, leave a message with your email with name or be resourceful and bug someone who knows my address. Or better yet, go poke birdy!
I'm not happy. I have three essays due next week. I have a re-test tomorrow. I should be happy that the Philosophy essay originally due this Thursday has been pushed to Wednesday, but I just got assigned a Mod West essay on the French Revolution.
It isn't the end of the world, but it sure feels like agony and sleepless nights. I really hate my procrastination and laziness. I've had weeks to revise my Philosophy essay outline and he gave me back my outline and I just haven't rehashed it and I was supposed to ages ago. I don't even have a fucking thesis for my English essay; I don't know what conventions to do for it and the conclusion is just going to very strange.
I hate English OAC. I hate it because there's too much work in it, the teacher insists on absolute compliance with the rules and in second term there's something like 8 major assignments in two months including our ISP proposal due the day we get back to school. They're trying to cram Shakespearean, Victorian, and modern literature and stylisics and structure and poetry all in one year. I'm fairly sure that either our school or the Ontario Education system is trying to kill us. And our ISP; dear bloody god our ISP...
I know my problems are small and I should be thankful, but seriously FUCK THAT. I may be making mountains out of molehills, but in my situation and my temperament, these essays are Satan's spawn.
I cannot wait for Xmas vacation. I will very busy reading, sleeping, de-stressing and hopefully, writing creatively. I have to start writing stories again or I will go crazy. It's hard to write. I have to force words out most of the time when putting them down as text except when writing blog entries.
Notice how I don't deal well with stress? I want to bury my head in the sand and be a very bad, lazy, pathetic arse now.
[Monday, December 9, 2002 | 08:41 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Yura Yayoi - Messiah]
Only In America. I think the last one is so wrong, yet so funny. *collapses into a heap of laughter*
fingers...frozen...cold...
sleepy...must write philsophy essay before thursday...
[Monday, December 9, 2002 | 12:11 a.m.]
[Theme muzak: Crystal Kay - Make Me Whole]
Day 2: Still addicted to Minesweeper. Eyes not quite working right and hand-eye co-ordination is somewhat twitchy.
And Minesweeper is so very evil. Even more evil than yaoi and slash and fanfiction combined. Okay, maybe not, but it's damned close.
My scores suck and I still blow up many times. >_<
Greg, BUGGER! hehehehe...XD
[Saturday, December 7, 2002 | 09:30 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - Just a Girl]
Damn you Greg! I know you don't have internet and probably won't be able to read this yet except at school, but damn you! Damn you for infecting with the need for Minesweeper!
I am addicted to Minesweeper now. I'm nowhere near Greg's level in adeptness, but I've gotten better.
Bleach r0xx0r5! I know I've raved about it before, but Kubo-sensei is brilliant. The art just keeps on getting better and better. Ichigo? Cool. I don't know why, but I'm kind of hankering for some Ichigo x Rukia. Yeah, it's highly unlikely but it'd be interesting...
Other people have ficbunnies or plotbunnies gnawing at them; I have pairingbunnies chewing on my legs. Ouch, another one just bit me. Tatsumi x Hisoka of all bunnies...
Hmmm...what I'd really like for Christmas is clarity, better EQ, more sleep, better sleeping hours, better abilities to handle stress and work, or a mixture of human abilities that cannot be purchased at any price. Failing that, the X 2003 calendar or volumes #9-10 of Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki would most definitely be welcome. ^_^
[Friday, December 6, 2002 | 10:17 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Matt Good - Weapon]
Trying so hard to finish reading DV11, but I just can't.
Ivan dropped by HC yesterday. He made me late for my newspaper folding meeting because we went to Second Cup for hot chocolate. However, it is forgivable. You still numb from the anathestic?
Tired right now. -_-
Damn optical mouse is acting up. It sudden flicks up to one corner of the screen for no reason at all. Argh.
Re-watched Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Guy Ritchie = bloody genius
birdy, have you confirmed the date of the party?
*slumps over desk* Goddamn English homework. It's "Teachers Blow Up At Classes as a Collective" Week. My gym and English teachers have already lectured their classes in noticeably pissy moods these days. >_< God...
Work to do this weekend: study for Econ test on Monday, do massive amount of English homework for Monday, study for English reading re-test on Wednesday, write Philosophy essay due on Thursday.
Next weekend: possible AP Calc test on Tuesday and English essay due on Thursday (the last half-day of school.)
Only nine more school days 'til winter vacation. I can't relax before then because the night before, I'll be finishing up my English essay, which I've done no thinking/work for.
I'm stressed. I'm also stressed about being stressed. I'm also stressed about being stressed about being stressed, and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on...
I know someone wants to give me the flu and make me sick for the next few weeks. Please?
[Tuesday, December 3, 2002 | 09:00 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Matchbox Twenty - Disease]
I have an optical mouse. Oooooooohhh... XD
I also have the Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels DVD. Whenver I feel like it, I can listen to incomprehensible Cockney accents and watch guys with big guns.
The party is now on December 31st. Final details will come when I get them from birdy. Transportation is up to you guys to figure out.
Click. Glide. Click. Slid. Double-click. Whee! The joy of an optical mouse o'erwhelms my soul. ^_^
[Monday, December 2, 2002 | 07:48 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Escaflowne - Yubiwa (Flute Version)]
I've been informed that the party is now on the 30th. Don't ask me why, I don't even know why/if I'm in charge. She's in charge. I am merely the person who is associated closely with the location at which this party is held. However, I do need to know who's coming so I can prepare, so leave a message here and at her blog. birdy, your cousin now thinks I'm a freakin' idiot because she told me to my face this morning. ^_^
My December Zero-Sum is here! Yay! XD Saiyuki Reload and Loveless! My November issue is not here yet...which defeats the purpose of the December issue being here because I don't know what happened. Ok, now must wait for next shipment of manga and phonebooks.
Now I kind of want a subscription to Asuka and I really need to cancel my Ribon because I just don't read it anymore.
Social blogging:
Greg: *hug* That 5uxx0r5.
Mage: You're my friend, even though we're not that close. *hug* Please don't feel bad. Come to the New Years/not-New Years party?
birdy: Thank you. *hug* You do know you are somewhat to blame for my un-social outcast-ness right? ^_^
Val: You still sick? If you are, hope you feel better *hug*
Kim: ;_; Haven't talked to you in a very long time. You coming to the party? Please? *hugs*
langey: Come to party please? *hugs* Need to see you before insanity of school starts again after Xmas break.
Karpy: Thanks. *hugs*
Rain: Thanks! *hugs*
Ivan: I'm still thinking of a revenge plan. I'll get one, I promise. And since I'm already giving out hugs...*hug*
Yeah, I was in a sentimental, social mood. And now my mum has gone and ruined it by ruining my self-esteem. I know she's looking out of my own good and I do need to be more active, but each and every time I just get angry at the world and society for giving us all bullshit about this and that.
I'm also pissed off at the world, humanity, and society right now. "The creative and neurotic minds have a lot in common. They're both dissatisfied with what they see; they both believe that something else ought to be there, and they try to pretend it is there or to make it be there." - Northrop Frye
Yes, I am neurotic and highly disappointed with humanity in general. That's why I'd rather be a Chi no Ryu. I'd also take the chance to snag a pair of Fuuma's wicked glasses and his entire wardrobe because it's just too cool. And it's all in black! XD
RyouTaku IniD fic. This reads like a romance novel and I'm laughing as much as I'm cringing. Some of the euphemisms fic writers think up are astounding. Who actually calls the person who they've been crushing on "their comrade"? "Blemish the hood"? Who would actually say that in a conversation? Argh! There goes my hopes of decent RyouTaku English fic.
[Sunday, December 1, 2002 | 09:33 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: CLAMP Campus Detectives - Peony Pink]
...is this how it feels to be happy when other people are happy?
interesting.
Cutesy Ali Project music, MSN, ICQ, counseling and advice, fanfic, and Economics homework at 9:30 on a Sunday night.
Life is good. And I'm content with being happy for other people.
