Actually Alive

Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 10:51 p.m.

Quickie blog this time. First, this:

Which Firearm are you?
brought to you byStan Ryker

Then this blog. So fucking funny, I swear. Then the blog of the owner of around the world and Orbit. Did I mention it's the blog of the webmaster of atw? (Fall down and worship his IniD knowledge and willingness to pay for bandwith to support atw! =P) Wouldn't know what I would do w/o atw...it's the best IniD site that I know of and I visit it constantly. Cutting it short again, bai bai!

Dead and Alive....

Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 09:03 p.m.

F'ckin' tired right now. Can't think. Don't wanna think. Am pissed friend is on DND mode on ICQ, I can't icq her any stuff about tomorrow...oh shit...

Shit...I really need to do some stuff, but I can hardly move. Did another two thousand numbers for the transfer of customer files to the new system...god, i'm not cut out for 9-5 jobs.

Am getting more intrigued in Tale of The Body Thief. At first, it was kind of bland, but now, it's more interesting. Feel urge for VC fanfiction rising...

Hoping tomorrow will go ok. Did no work planning...hate planning. My friend foisted the entire onto my shoulders, refusing to do any of the planning, which I did half of before, sharing the burden and the get-together's crap. Half our friends are away (lucky bastard Derek gets to go back to HK [of course, he lives there, technically...])and I haven't got food for tomorrow yet and we have crapshit to do.

Will not panic. Will assume inner poise a la Bridget Jones. *snicker* Which means my nerves will be shot to hell later and I'll be swigging Jolt down like mad.

Check out Icha Icha Paradise today. Ruaki's a goddess, I swear. Her blog is so fun to read, it usually has some sketches she's does (lovely artwork) and appearance by her sb, Horohoro from Mankin, and some mention of yaoi. She contributed a great deal to my passion of doujinshi and yaoi without intending to do so directly. Did I know about Shaman King before her? Did I know about Oversoul before her? And most importantly, did I know about RenHoro goodness before her? Answer to all three is NO! And her artwork's v.g., not to mention her site, Valhalla

I got my Hana to Yume 4-6 and Ribon 3!!! YES! Love shoujo manga phonebooks and fact that cousin is living in Hong Kong and is willing to pick up/ship stuff for me! She is a lovely, lovely, v. nice person! Am following a lot of the stories in HtY (like Skip Beat, Hana Kimi, Never Give Up!, W Juliet, Fruits Basket, Hitsuji no Namida, Global Garden)and some in Ribon. I wish I had Margaret and Sho-Comi, especially the latter, but four/five manga phonebooks is too much for one month. God, my obsession w/ shoujo manga is almost unhealthy...hehehe...j/k

I'm going to cut this short, so ja!

So tired thinking is out of the question

Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 08:03 p.m.

Got back from work a few hours ago, but I'm still so exhausted. Spent the whole day staring at a computer screen trying to type in 2000 numbers in chronological order, which is harder than it seems, because you don't know if you typed in 2375 or 2357 or 2537 and your mind goes v. weird. And I still haven't arranged the plans for Thursday for the day out w/ my friends. Hope to arrange it on the fly. First, hang out at my house w/ movies, cards, food, mahjogg, or whatever. Then bowling then either back to my house or to the plaza for the arcade, movie theatre and dinner. Can't find the damn bowling alley's phone # to arrange lanes...damn...

I so not meant for planning events w/ my friends. Since I got to a private school and my friends are all over Toronto, arranging to hang out takes more work than doing an essay sometimes. Contacting people always takes time b/c they're not always at home or they don't have a cell or if they do, they don't turn it on or some other stuff and if there's a change in plans, it's always a hassle.

Am disappointed that IP12 by the inimitable Rhysenn is going to be late only because it was meant to coincide w/ the C&R list's anniversary and we were going to have a chat to discuss IP12 and Yahoo!Groups is going to be down this weekend, which happens to be the anniversary. Also, Snitch!10 has still not arrived according to the ETA, as Al said on the SCUSA H/D thread at Fiction Alley. He said that it was at the betas on March 4th and would probably be out that week. Want Snitch!10 so badly it almost hurts, but prolonging it makes reading it so much sweeter.

I'm too tired to write anymore, so bai bai...

Much Better

Monday, March 11, 2002 - 07:21 p.m.

Am feeling much better and not so sick now. Am liking Jennifer Lopez's songs as they are v. uplifting, like Feelin' So Good and I'm Real and Ain't That Funny.

Also saw an Acura Integra Type-R, which is, according to Japanese market names, a Honda Integra Type-R. Now I'm guessing that Acura is simply an off-shot of Honda, like Infiniti is an off-shot of (Nissan or Toyota), meant to sell luxury cars. Acura has an American image to it, while Honda is still retains its Japanese roots and the TL and EL do have a slightly "luxury car" aura about them. The Type-R was very racer-boy, which turned me off a little bit, but it was v. exciting to see it anyways.

Want to read Onozuka Kaori's works! Apparently they're "ironic and modern" and v. full of angst. In fact, I want to read a lot of the works listed in the Manga Bonbons site. Lots of the stuff sounds fantastic to read, but I really want to read "Midnight Sun" by Toshimi Arina and "Sakendeyaruze!" by Takaguchi Satosumi and especially "WILD ADAPTER" and "Shiritsu Araiso Koutou Gakkou Seitokai Shikkoubu" by Minekura Kazuya, the author of "Gensomaden Saiyuki". I love Minekura-sensei's works; she draws her characters very distinctively with lanky, wiry frames and her plots are very interesting, always hinting at yaoi, but never crossing the line to obvious yaoi. There's always UST in her works, so they're maddening to read when you're a major slasher (like me) but the artwork and the story always make up for it and the UST often adds to the story.

I also found a new site. =D Check out Common As The Rain Studios >> eros, a nice little site on yaoi manga and non-yaoi art.

So sick I can't think straight

Monday, March 11, 2002 - 04:35 p.m.

(Title is parody of Draco's t-shirt from Al's Snitch! ficlet "The Dog And The Drainpipe")

I am sick. I don't know why, but I am officially ill. My head is aching, my stomach's heaving and I generally feel like a piece of crap. And I still have to proceed w/ life. Wish home had aspirin. Home does not have aspirin. Am peeved. Wish self was unconscious.

Was feeling okay before having food, seems to me that I was feeling okay before food, yesterday and today. Ugh. Can't think of food.

However, have discovered Manga Bonbons, a lovely site of shoujo/yaoi manga. Basically, it has a scan of the manga cover and the title and manga-ka. I definitely know that my manga wish-list is going to grow once I get the time to go thoroughly through the site. I'm already drooling. ^_^

I'm going to cut this short, so ja!

A Demon In Disguise

Sunday, March 10, 2002 - 07:15 p.m.

Internet is a demon in disguise. It's a Frustration demon, meant to irritate you to the point where it passes you onto the Anger/Wrath demon whose grip on you is huge and you start throwing things.

Spent last two hours trying to fix my internet along w/ my sister's. So weird how somethings work one minute, then fail the next. My older sister (the Anti-Christ) had the gall to accuse me that "When your computer works fine and my laptop doesn't, it's perfectly okay for you! And when your computer is broken, you're so ready to fix it!" Firstly, she had another computer in her room that she could use. Yes, it was running Windows 98, not Windows XP and had a slower processor, but it wasn't like she couldn't use the internet. And secondly, wasn't that the same thing that happened to me? Except I didn't have another computer in my room to use and I had to wait four months before I got off my arse and called the computer guy because she said her boyfriend would fix it!

For her laptop, I called the guy immediately and tried to fix it even though it wasn't my concern. When my computer didn't have internet, it was because it was her router that was wrong and she couldn't connect to the internet with her laptop, only her main computer. She kept on complaining and whining to me and her friends over the phone about obscure things related to the computer and me while I steadily got a hoarse throat and short temper talking to the computer guy who kept on repeating redundant things. Besides, isn't it human nature to be concerned about your own stuff before others? And, my internet was down as well, since it was some problem w/ the router, so my internet wasn't working either! All she did was sit on her arse and do nothing but complain, complain and complain and had the guts to accuse me of being responsible of the whole debacle.

Hate self-righteous people like that. Of course, I may be one myself, since it seems to run in the family. Hope am not too self-righteous. Of course, now I'm being self-righteous, whining like a kid.

On a cheerier note, Kekkai.Org is working again, which means Digital Midnight, Bishonenink, and Technomancy Productions are also working! Hurray! Was going into withdrawal w/o Tenshi no Korin and llamajoy's lovely FFVII fic arc. Those fics are the only fics that can make me feel all warm and fuzzy in a Shinra-only fic. Of course, they're not only about Shinra, but its main focus is on Shinra. I have also learned to love Reeve/Elena, Tseng/Rufus and Rude/Reno because of them. ^_^

Must indulge self in more FFVII...ja!

Sensory Overload

Saturday, March 9, 2002 - 09:42 p.m.

Ooooohhh...my brain is fried. Like real, honest-to-god, too tired to think fried. And I haven't been doing any work. Honestly, NO WORK.

So strange. Dunno why, but I'm officially on March Break, so two weeks of doing nothing but working at my parents' place and relaxing a lot. V. contented.

Well, yesterday, I got off school after an excruciatingly painful day of classes and went over to my friend's place w/ another friend and we crashed there from last night to this afternoon, watching a lot of movies and stuff. And I have to say there is nothing like watching Queen Of The Damned w/ a bunch of friends at 10 pm, sandwiched between two who are major Anne Rice fans (I am a fledgling one) critiquing the movie and having major reactions to things that really piss them off. So funny. Love the music, was singing Slept So Long and Forsaken w/ friends after the movie at midnight in the theatre. After Queen Of The Damned all five of us went back to my friend's house to watch Interview With The Vampire, which I fell asleep halfway through. Good that it was my friend's place that I'd planned to crash at.

I have watched way too many movies between yesterday and today. The list is: Snatch, About Adam, Queen Of The Damned, Interview With The Vampire, Child's Play, The Glass House, and Velvet Goldmine. I am so sick of movies right now.

Oh, and of Velvet Goldmine slash as well. I was fully intent on watching Velvet Goldmine so I could read the fanfiction, but I've read too many of them now. I'm also reading a Squall/Zell AU fic alongside everything else and that has 17 chapters and I'm only at chapter 10. Too much slash and too much Queen Of The Damned music. I'd never thought I'd ever think like that. *rueful grin*

Ja mata!

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 06:10 p.m.

Argh, I just fucking messed my archive for this blog! Pitas' instructions are so goddamned confusing! I put my archive link to the March 6, but my March 7 entries are in there! They shouldn't archive the current index page, but rather ask what entries you want to put into the archived page. I'm v. annoyed about this. This ruins the weekly archive pages I was planning. This really pisses me off. There's nothing more irritating than having a symmetry or rhythm or planned organization of something ruined. I'm really pissed. Fucking obscure, vague instructions. *goes away grumbling like mad*
