[Theme muzak: Lo Fidelity Allstars - Battleflag]
Did Media exam today. Wrote utter shit for essay and paragraph, hand hurts. Math's next tomorrow, thank god. Even if I get 0 (which I most definitely don't want to do) on the exam, I'll still pass the course, althought abysmally.
Ivy Blossom has written up a HP Slash Fanfic Glossary. I wish this existed when I first jumped into the HP fandom b/c I was incredibly lost about the jargon everyone used, since it was the first slash fandom I explored.
Fandoms are kind of like countries now; they have their own little section of the internet, which is seemingly infinite and endless, and create a subculture where people communicate through inanimated machines in a jargon that would confuse a layman within seconds. Just familiarizing yourself with the common knowledge or information circulating around in the fandom takes time. There's a lot to learn: well-known people like authors, artists, webmasters, site-owners, list-owners, etc. (i.e. in HP, CC, Al, Libertine, Heidi, etc.), well-known fanfiction (i.e. DD, DS, DV, IP, HP&I, Snitch!, etc.), well-known sites to visit (i.e. FA), the list can go on and on and common knowledge or the type of common knowledge can differ from fandom to fandom. For example, a fandom might be kind of centralized on one website or might be split up on mailing lists, another could reject message boards or mailing lists entirely and be conducted in chat rooms. I think that's why I've got my fingers in so many fandom pies; exploring a new fandom is just like visiting a new country w/o the jetlag or getting lost; it's exciting, fun to find out stuff you never expected to learn or know and meeting some truly brilliant people whether they have amazing insights into character or write in a such a way you go into instant-rave mode. ^_^

^_^ I should be studying. Shouldn't I...?
Chibi!Clark: You should. *nods*
...You actually don't have snarky comments for me today?
Chibi!Clark: Nope.
OH MY FUCK!!!! LEX!!!!
Chibi!Lex: *pops in* Yes?
Who is this and what has he done to Clark? *points*
Chibi!Lex: *scrutinizes Chibi!Clark, drags him down on the floor for a snog* No...he-oooohhhh, yeah...'s...oh yes! Clark! Examination has been-mmmm, love when you ooh...-quite thorough...

[Theme muzak: Todd Thibaud - Unbroken]
| You are: 100% Canadian!!
You. Are. Amazing. You are SOOO Canadian, that you must wear red and white everyday, and kill random Americans when they are up here on tours. You memorize every episode of "Talking to Americans", and your favourite snack is a Beaver Tail. Other Canadians bow in your presence. You are a god. |
Thank you for confirming my Canadian-ness, Britt. ^_^
Watched re-runs of Smallville and Gilmore Girls. Both episodes I have not seen, but for Smallville, I know pretty much what happens in every episode. I cannot resist spoilers no matter how much will power I exert. Is helping to dull the pain of "Tempest", thankfully. ^_^

[Theme muzak: Placebo - Pure Morning]
Did my Law exam. Almost ran out of time. Not going to think about it. Am not going to think about it.
I think I did bad.
Well, now I have to concentrate on Media. My hand's going to hurt like hell, I've got to write an essay and a paragraph within the span of 2 hours for that. Then on Friday, I have to write Math. I'm trying to take it one day at a time, but my averages can take a serious drop if I do badly on these exams and I need to keep it up for next year.
Oh fuck I'm thinking about it.
Not going to think about it. *shakes head*
Which monkey are you?
Hm. Hits the mark, doesn't it?
Missed AN 2002 b/c studying for exams. Why does AN2002 always happen right when I have exams? I always miss it b/c of that and damnit, I want one chance to actually go to a full out real con for all days, stay in a bloody hotel room, hang out w/ all my anime friends and indulge myself in so much anime that I'll quite possibly o.d. on it.
Then again I'll have the chance at CNAnime to do something like that. This time I'm going w/ dependable friends some of which actually have never gone to con before. At least this time I'll be w/ ppl who embrace the con experience with less cynicism than the others I went w/ last year and, thankyougod, more enthusiasm.

you're girl, interrupted. you're fun and friendly, and just a little bit crazy.

[Theme muzak: Blur - Song 2]
WE ARE TIED 1-1!!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!! GO LEAFS GO!!!!
*breathes* Okay, I'm calm.
^_^ I love how the Leafs manage to do this practically every game. When they seem to be beaten and it's nearing the end of regulation time, they bounce back!
Also, just watched the Devil May Cry 2 trailer. Omigawd, 5w337! Graphics are droolworthy, as is Dante in his new outfit (he's not wearing a shirt underneath this time. *grin*) and it's absolutely visually stunning. The moves are fluid and well-executed, the setting is suitably macabre, frightening and European city-ish, and gawd it's just amazing. Just bloody fucking fantastic. Can't wait until it comes out so I can ogle it some more! ^_^
Whee! Daestwen made a quiz. ^_^ She predictably made an Elijah Wood one. I wonder which one is the Joaquin Phoenix one...?
My Lova is: Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker (Spider Man) The only way that YOU like 'em is when they're climbing up the walls and swinging from the empire state building! Keep him away from flies, though. |

Mmm...Renegade Fighter, such a good song. Of course, from Smallville. Repetitive, but just good. This is such an Ewan McGregor song. I think that him as Curt Wilde in Velvet Goldmine would definitely sing this song in leather pants and nothing else. ^_^ In fact, Obi-Wan would sing this just a teeny bit drunk on Karaoke Night at The Gray Side of the Force to Darth Maul. ^_^ Then it would descend into a typical Friday night for them. ^_^ (Reference to The Sith Academy fanfic series.)
Queer As Folk last night, is steadily getting more like a soap opera. Also, why was there no Ethan in this episode? I demand my rights to ogle him and cheer him on as he hits on Justin as subtly as a fist will smack into his face when Brian discovers him flirting uncontrollably with Justin. ^_^ And Ethan is handsome, clever, silver-tongued, a violin virtuoso, and makes me love him. And I want to see him w/ Justin. Sorry, Brian. Oh, he also does amazing "eyefucks" with Justin. He managed to say "I'm going to do unutterably naughty things to you" with his eyes the first time he met Justin, so he deserves a shag w/ Justin at the very least. ^_^
I should be studying for Law since it's one of my OACs, shouldn't I?
Chorus of Chibi!Muses: You're screwed.

[Theme muzak: The Wiseguys - Ooh La La]
Last day of school.
*turns on Blur's Song 2"* WOOHOO!!!! *blasts of guitars*
Yes, I may possibly be high right now. *lol*
If you don't know Blur's Song 2, it's the song that goes "WOOHOOO!" and then has major guitar music just blasting you away. They use it a lot in commercials, especially beer ones.
^_^ Pretty day. Feels weird and not like the last day of school for this year at all. *sniff* Some of my friends are graduating. Not all, of course, but just a few in the grade above me who decided to fast-track. Signed a few shirts too. *lol* The grads got the ppl they knew to sign their shirts instead of yearbooks this year b/c the yearbooks are coming late this year. Some glitch with the hot pink cloth covers not being able to be machine-sewn, then they had to be sewn on and glued by hand. They sound tacky, but I've seen them and they look pretty fantastic. Of course, it's just so...pink. Ugh. But they look sufficiently good on the inside. ^_^
I've discovered my friend, Kim's blog. (She likes Hayden Christensen. [I recently discovered this fact] Thusly, she is beyond amazing so go read her blog! =P) Haven't talked to her in ages, really need to re-establish communication. Also, the blog of i lang, another friend from same school as birdy and Kim. Oh, now I miss my friends, but I hope that I'll be able to see them before I leave on June 18th for HK or in the summer, possibly during CN Anime Expo in the end of August.

[Theme muzak: Lifehouse - Breathing]
What type of Bishounen are you? Find out at artificial-soul.net by Rin.
Damn you, WB for making your commercials looks so good! Argh...have desperate urge to subscribe to WB now because of the WB Image Campaign 2002, which looks stunning. Of course, it has Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum (in a Porsche Boxster! *squeal*), Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki, Alexis Bledel (in a horribly cheesy halo of light) and various other people who I don't care too much about, unfortunately.
Tom Welling looks different with a new haircut and less blush! HURRAY! Less blush = less disturbing likeness to drag queen or clown. Michael Rosenbaum, on the other hand, has stubble on his head. ^_^ Growing out his hair will be an absolute bitch. (I wonder if ppl will find stubble on his head sexy. Stubble on a guy's face is kind of sexy and rugged, but stubble on his head? =P) I know it's all a ploy to make ppl subscribe to the WB; absolutely loathe shameless advertising and hate own susceptibility to extremely cool-looking, well-directed commercials. *bangs head on wall* Will resolve inner dilemma of personal ethics and like of aesthetically pleasing commercial by indulging in chocolate. ^_^

[Theme muzak: John Mayer - No Such Thing]
I want a Sith Lords Kick Ass t-shirt. ^______^
Have unreasonable new addiction to Star Wars fanfiction. More specifically, the "Life Lessons at the Sith Academy" series written by Siuhban located at The Sith Academy. Why? When I was reading I nearly choked on orange juice because I was laughing so hard. If proof of FGDTWP (Food Going Down The Wrong Pipe) Syndrome is not enough to proclaim it hilarious to the point of no return, I do not know what funny is anymore.
And I still want a Sith Lords Kick Ass t-shirt. I think I'll buy some black t-shirts and get various things printed on them by a shop somewhere. I'd put something like "Hi, my name's V and I'm a PHF, PEF, PMF, a H/D, S/H, P/O shipper, a CLex, L/A, YoKen, Nagi/Omi, S/S, S/K, Take/Kei, Ryou/Taku, Zax/Cloud yaoi/slash addict" on the front, then on the back put "Yaoi/Slash Fanfiction Anonymous: For Those Hopelessly Addicted to Slashing of the Non-Violent Kind" or on another shirt altogether, "Lex may become evil, but for now, he's too busy with organically grown farmboys to pay any attention to the Dark Side." or "PHF Anonymous" or "Bottoms Up! Ukes Unite!". In fact, I'd dearly, dearly like to get the first one with both sides written. ^_^

[Theme muzak: John Mayer - Love Song For No One]
I'm an atheist!
Which Enemy of the Christian Church Are You?
A(nother) Robert and Tim Creation
Watched Gods & Monsters last night. Interesting movie, I kind of liked it, but more depth into Whale's past life would have satisfied my curiosity about his life more. The movie was more about James Whale's relationship with Clay Boone, but all the same, more about his past would have made it just a little bit better. Ian McKellan absolutely spectacular as James Whale, of course, can't expect anything but an excellent performance from that man b/c he's just that damn good. And he has a delicious boyfriend who looks good enough to eat. What does the man not have? (Besides an Oscar b/c the people at the Academy are bastards and somehow disliked Fellowship of the Ring.)
[Friday, May 24, 2002 | 09:41 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: John Mayer - No Such Thing]
Again, Smallville "Tempest" spoilers. Do I still need to post that warning?
Yes! KryptonSite has finally posted the music list for "Tempest"! Smallville has some of the best music I've ever heard on a television series and the song above is no exception. I saw John Mayer's CD at HMV; he's pretty cute and he's got a nice and relaxed voice that I can listen to over and over again. I love the lyrics of No Such Thing, they're meaningful, but the song's got such a catchy beat that it's not depressing. Just the kind of song you want to listen to with your friends on a sunny day outside lying on the grass at lunch laughing about the plasticity and pressures of high school. ^_^ "I wanna run through the halls of my high school. I wanna scream at the top of my lungs. I just found out there's no such thing as the real world, just a lie you got to rise above."
Whoever chooses music for Smallville should be made a demi-deity and worshipped. Ritual animal sacrifice not necessary, but some prostration and burning of incense would be sufficient to demonstrate our devotion, I think. =P
Another thing to comment for "Tempest". Remy Zero at the prom was...ergh. The lead singer looked like he was about to keel over b/c he was stoned. The guitarists and drummer had more animation than him. What was really laughable and cheesy was Pete's obviously fake "Go Remy Zero!", Clark's overly earnest "I like these guys", and also, "Chloe's favourite song" shtick and the parting of the girls 'round Chloe to allow Clark to whisk her away like a prince on a white horse. Gawd, if high school were that romanticized in real life (a popular, in demand band at prom of a small town's high school with minimal attendence by its students?), I'd start liking it b/c it'd be so funny just to observe.
Clark wears too much blush and looks like an overly made-up, bulkier, more muscular, prettier version of a Ken doll. Hey, Chloe is Barbie (plus healthy dose of brains and heroic alien saviour, minus overly generous and unrealistic proportions) and Clark is Ken! They're dating and little girls (fangirls) will play with them, creating fanfiction and a fantasy world where they'll live happily ever after.
Then again...happily ever after doesn't exist, so Clark will slowly realize the discomfort of a intimate relationship with Chloe, attempt to convince himself he's not admiring Lex's ass and would not like to do deliciously naughty things to Lex, finally reconcile himself to being homosexual, tell Chloe that "It's not you. It's me.", then set about telling Lex about his feelings. Then Lex will eventually reciprocate as he has been finding flannel a turn-on, especially when clothing the body of an organically grown, wholesome farmboy (who he wouldn't mind seeing without the obstruction of flannel and several other items of clothing either) and then they'll live happily for several decades as constantly shag-drunk (and shagging) fags who delight in each other's company very much to the point where body parts will start hurting. ^_^
I'm v. much a CLEx fan. Can you tell? ^_^
[Friday, May 24, 2002 | 06:04 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - No One Like You]
Updated list of comments on "Tempest". *sniff* I had my final day of classes for World History, Law, and Math. I'm kind of sad, since I really loved the latter two and my math teacher finally sung for my class after much persuading over the course of the year since September. He sang an aria and everyone was absolutely blown away by his voice. He's shy and modest, but he's brilliant, innovative, incredibly nice, has an amazing voice and utilizes it in the most spectacular, thrilling manner. He sang an Italian song which I don't remember, but it was truly superb. I've seen opera on TV before, but there is nothing like the experience of having a seasoned opera singer, however amateur, sing just a desk away. The acoustics of the classroom were suprisingly good and he astounded us all with his singing. We were all speechless at the end. All I have to say is that it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I won't forget it. Plus, he gives out excellent marks on tests. ^_^
Let's see plans for weekend: studying. Studying. And more studying. I hate finals. Six exams this year of widely different material and I don't know how I'm going to cram six subjects' worth of material into my head that I learned from September or December to May within less than a week. Am I screwed?
Chibi!Muses: *chorus* YES!
Thanks guys. -_-; I feel loved. Well, my verdict is that I'm screwed. And my friends feel the same, so I'm very much dead for finals.
No RIP for me, thankyouverymuch, because I know that's just not possible for someone who's going to roast in hell like a marshmallow. =P
Hahaha...re-discovered LegoDeath. This is what inspired me to do the Lego version of Lancelot & Elaine. ^_^
