Whee! Had one and a half iced coffees for lunch along with extra spicy pork chop curry with rice. I'm jittery from burning my tongue and chugging extremely strong caffeine, but I'm still really tired.
Bought a lot of cellphone attachments for myself at lunch. Two Tare Panda, one PPG of Bubbles, one evil kitty, and a Lego-ish thing. ^_^ Adding that to my new DiGi Charat keychain collection, nyo.
[rant] Hong Kong advertising has reached a new low. Or high, depending on your outlook. HK is literally plastered with ads, but especially bad is the transportation systems. Buses, subway, trains, taxis, mini-buses, roads, etc. Yesterday I was on the subway and a moving ad for Cathay Pacific came on, projected onto the window/wall of the tunnel while the train was still traveling at v. high speeds. It was kind of cool, I'd have to admit, but there is enough advertising on the MTR (HK subway). Several trains have been completely plastered w/ McDonalds ads, on the seats, the walls, interior, bars, etc. and while you wait for the subway on the platform, the opposite wall has at least fifty billboard ads, with about 20% as commercials projected onto a screen w/ sound. Nearly every inch of wall space in the subway system and stations have ads. On mini-buses and buses, there are mini tv screens with advertisements running 24/7. I'm sick and tired of being propositioned to buy something every second literally while traveling, walking, and sitting. I understand companies must make money and advertisements are extremely profitable, but I feel more like a thing than a person. Advertising must exist, I know, but I think it's going overboard.
