[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - Mad Afternoon]
Well, not exactly a mad afternoon, but a good one. ^_^ Met up w/ birdy, langey, Greg, Michelle, Vorpal, Yoshi and some of their friends whose names I don't remember (^_^;;;) at P Mall. Ate at 168, same place as before, played Big 2 w/ Yoshi, Greg, and langey. Birdy, Vorpy and their friends had to leave for some Father's Day thing at 3 which 5uxx0red. -_-But Yoshi, Greg, Michelle, and langey stayed and we went around and Greg and Yoshi showed off their m4d 5k1||5 at DDR together, then IniD Arcade Stage and Para Para respectively. We did GGX, Time Crisis and it was bloody good fun. ^_^ Then we went back to my place minus Yoshi -_-and I copied FB from Greg, and langey had to leave. -_- Then we played some GTA3, GT3, and Tekken Tag. We watched CCS, ate bbq, Kim came and we watched El-Hazard which isn't too bad. And so ends the day.
Note to self: Do not arrange reps meetings on special occasions/holidays. Everyone will have to leave early.
The "reps meeting" never really happened except we confirmed that we are going to be completely new and separate from ISA. No new name, no new motto, etc. *sigh* We'll figure it out in August when everyone's here, I suppose.
Got FB! Yay! ^_^ Must go watch 13 hours of it!

[Theme muzak: Goo Goo Dolls - Here is Gone]
I am officially nocturnal. ^_^ Stayed up til 5 am talking w/ Greg and Kim on MSN, woke up at 3 pm, said "Good morning" to family and got laughed at.
Doesn't matter. Am happy! ^_^
Am supposed to be packing for HK. Urgh, don't know what to bring and leave behind. I will go shopping, and insanely so, for clothes and anime and manga, but I do need some stuff to bring there. So hard to decide...
birdy, you met Jimbo? Was he wearing his cowboy hat? ^_^
langey, eat mew. ^_^

[Theme muzak: Bonnie Pink - Sleeping Child]
Found way to combat depressiveness. Two straight hours of GTA3, playing as a taxi driver, several liberal doses of Seifer/Zell FF8 fanfiction combined with some The Sith Academy fanfics. Add a shot of GTA3 cheat codes and a jigger of sleepiness. Stir well and serve over ice in a martini glass. Garnish with dark chocolate and Hershey Kisses. Drink in comfortable sweats and t-shirt. ^_^

[Theme muzak: The Pillows - Funny Bunny]
That's good you can come Kim, even if it is only for an hour. And it was coincidence it was on Father's Day. I'll lend you the manga when you come by.
I feel sick and depressed. I don't know why I am depressed. *flops onto the ground*

I mean, I should be happy. It's summer vacation, I'm going to HK in a few days for fun in the sun and shopping, I'm going to see the ISA reps on Sunday, and I'm not honestly sick or anything. Why?
I think I'll go hide from the world in my bed now. 'M sleepy and sad. And yes, I know it's pathetic, but I feel pathetic right now. *hides under blankets*

Cutesy CCS music. I have sunk low. Or I can celebrate my eclectic taste in music. The latter sounds more politically correct.
Yes, langey, Sunday is Father's Day. You can't make it to the reps meeting...? (Please say you can make it!)
Woke up at around 1 pm after staying up til 4:30 am. Lounged lethargically around until 3, played GTA3, ate at 5, still think it's the afternoon.
Really want to get new games for PS2.
I'm feeling restless right now. And twitchy. Can't access villainy.org pages for some reason.

[Theme muzak: Citizen Cope - Mistaken I.D.]
You know you're family's interest in your future is messed up when:
- Your older sister comes over to you at 1:50 a.m. to ask you about you taking the SATs and SAT IIs in that way you know she is actually telling you to go and do them over again.
- Said sister is continually forcefully "persuading" you to go to an American university when you've repeated over and over you're going to stick with Canada.
- Said sister says you should go to Harvard Law School.
- Family does not make "the joke" with last name and profession unlike everyone else.
- Family is obviously wanting to live unvicariously through your supposedly successful future.
- Family is getting to the point where avoiding them will only get you a longer lecture on the qualities of American universities which they know nothing about.
I love my family kind of, but honestly when they start conversations at 1 am in the morning about the SATs, I'm not a happy camper. So please please please stop advocating the "American Universities" Way. Please. I beg of you, just stop. If I want to stay in Canada and switch majors or transfer halfway across the country for university, let me do so in relative peace, I beg of you.
And if you, i.e. well-meaning family members who think getting into Harvard with my marks and record is as simple as saying, "I wanna go to Harvard", wish to lecture me, please get the right information first and send a check of $75 000 (or any exorbitant amount of money) to reality c/o Reality, 1236 Lack of Existence Avenue. Thank you.
Yes, I was being sarcastic. Any more glaring neon signs needed?

[Theme muzak: Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal]
It's been a blah day. Nothing happened and it was completely boring.
For any ISA rep who hasn't read the ISA message board, please do so. We're having a reps meeting on Sunday. Check out the board for details.
I need something to do now. Because I'm getting twitchy *twitch*
No Smallville b/c it has moved to Sunday. Gawd, I really need something to do.
[Wednesday, June 12, 2002 | 1:31 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Silence]
birdy, it's ok. If you can't make it on Thursday, which day is ok then? Saturday or Sunday? I know Monday's Kitch's birthday and I leave on Tuesday night. I guess I could squeeze a reps meeting in that day since I leave pretty late. I started a new topic on the message board for the meeting since we've done most of the discussion on MSN.

[Tuesday, June 11, 2002 | 11:14 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: The Calling - Stigmatized]
This has been a very good and eventful day. ^_^V *knocks on wood*
Well to begin, it wasn't that great, quite frankly, since I got only 3 hours of sleep. But I got to school and beat the lineups for the used book sale, so that was ok. Then I went to get my exam marks and I thought I did badly, but actually this year has been my best for exams. ^_^ I hope I'll continue on doing so for next since that's when it really does matter. So the marks stand thusly:
Media: 89%
Finite: 96%
English: 96%
World History: 95%
Math: 84%
Law: 91%
I'm really surprised that I did that well on all my subjects except Math, which ironically was my highest term mark. I know my final marks for the entire year for Math (94%), Finite (94%), and English (90%). I am so happy and I hope that my teachers didn't add stuff up wrong or anything will go wrong. *crosses fingers* I am v. supersitious right now. I really need 90s for both Law and Finite since they're both OACs. The latter I'm not worried about, but if my term mark for Law has been lower than my exam...*wince*
After getting the exam marks back (I AM FINISHED! *blasts Blur's Song 2, celebratory song* ^_^), I went to go see Bad Company with Britt, which was surprisingly good. We ate lunch, then did some DDR after Britt persuaded me forcefully to participate w/ her. ^^ (God, the bloody humiliation!) I did ok on the first song, but w/ "Butterfly", I sucked utterly. Then we played some House of the Dead, a motorcycle game, Virtua Fighter 4 which had some beautiful graphics, but was really tame for some reason. Then we went to Toys 'R Us and wandered about a bit, looking at the commercialized pieces of plastic. Then we went to Indigo where I finally bought "Lirael" by Garth Nix and two more Agatha Christie novels for summer reading in HK.
Then I got talking with langey and Greg on MSN and we don't know what's happening w/ non-existent or existent reps meeting.
Side note: birdy, the three of us have decided to hold it on Thursday. We're all going to meet at some subway stop, eat lunch somewhere, then maybe head to your house or Greg's. I have called you numerous times but no one picks up. Why haven't you called any of us reps? Pick up your phone, please! I'm practically tearing out my hair because I can't reach you!
Then my older sis bugged me to go w/ her to Futureshop and along came mum. Somehow, miraculously, I managed to persuade my mum to buy us a PS2.
Yes, a PS2.
PS2
SQQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! ^__________^
Oh, and we bought GT3 and GTA3 as well. 5w337!
Then we ended up at the LCBO, sis bought alcohol. Then Laura Secord where we bought ice cream.
Then me, sis, and mum indulged in our first time playing GT3. Hilarious, since we don't know anything about driving on consoles. I've done it before with friends, but I always crash into everything. Surprisingly, I crashed into very little things this time. V. cool game and cars. I must, must drive the LanEvo VII GSR sometime b/c it'll be the only time I'll ever get to go behind the wheel, even in a game, of a LanEvo. ^_^ Then I played GTA3 which probably has not seen the likes of me ever. I got wasted at least 15 times b/c I like making everything explode and crashing into things. It was fun. ^_^ I love GTA3 b/c it's just so fun going around the city, albeit confusing since I don't know Chinatown from Trenton, running over people, punching them, stealing cars, etc. (Best car: firetruck. That baby can ram into anything and survive, I swear. It's a 5w337 ride. ^_^)
Yes, GTA3 is not a game for minors. But it's damn fun! ^_^
So my day essentially r0xx0r3d. *knocks on wood* ^_^ I think I'll go and read blogs now. ^_^
Oh and would this be how My Apprentice would be if she were actually into Budweiser? Got link from Greg, go see it even if you don't get The Sith Academy reference.
Happy pre-lated birthday to Kitch/Val! Umm...can i come to your bday party? if you're reading this.
I should start packing for HK, since I have less than a week, shouldn't I?
It's going to be like exams all over again, I'm afraid...

[Theme muzak: Shanti Snyder - Sora]
Good episode of QaF. Next episode is season finale. Squuuuuueeeeeee! I'm going to be here for it! Yes! ^_^
Many things to comment on:
- Justin leaving Ethan after sex. How could he? Outrageous breach of trust and conduct and really characteristic of the emotional fuckwit Justin is becoming. Of course, he's becoming an emotional fuckwit because he's going through emotional turmoil. But Justin is torn and anyone would between two delicious men like Brian and Ethan. So I guess it's excusable, but he's still a callous emotional fuckwit.
- Michael's moral dilemma and Brian's reactions. Michael should not have told Brian in a roundabout way. Brian is hurting and Michael can't see. And they've been best friends for how long? How can Michael not see that Brian is hurt by the news?
- Ted and Emmett. Ted is going through mid-life crisis. 'nuff said. He's grasping at a goal and now that he's achieved his dream job, he wants another goal. I think he's a bit deluded. Emmett is sweet. I think I like Emmett the best, since he's so adorably sweet and nice and I really want to hug him, even if he's just a bit...well, you know. *hugs Chibi!Emmett*
I really can't wait for the next episode! ^_^

I know not whether to call my RL friends w/ blogs by their real name or s/n in RL anymore. Is confusing...
It's a nice day yet again. My sense of time now is really skewered since I wake up at noon or thereabouts now, not 6 bloody thirty like I used to, so when it's 6 pm and time to eat dinner, I think it's noon. I will never be able to wake up at 6 anymore.
Crap, I've got to wake up at 6 tomorrow to get my exam marks back. Great, inability to keep eyes awake along with marching to the guillotine. Or more like the realization that I'm a head short and I've just realized it.

langey, I don't think it'd be too hard, ne? birdy as Miss Deep? No, she can be Wendy...I think you should be Miss Deep. *lol* You think the guys in the Angel Sanctuary anime are hard to distinguish as male? Try reading the manga; that'll confuse you even more. =D I know they're hot. Yum...Lucifer...
Watched the Montreal GP today. M Schumacher won, of course. Am starting to like him again, even though debacle at Austria really pissed me off. Go Barrichello!
Monou Fuuma
Formerly kind and a good friend, you've become a rather twisted person, with a love for blood and tears. But that's okay, because you're far more interesting, and your sadistic personality leads to loads of yaoi fun. You've also got a soft side, and occasionally decide to show it. Being able to sense people's wishes comes in handy too. You're generally pretty easy going, despite being a very obvious teenage sadist.

birdy, yes, I know. It's bootleg after all. Sorry, I forgot to tell you about the incomprehensible subtitles. It might be Taiwanese, not Chinese...
And birdy, what song is this?

help me the only thing that works for me, help me get
away from myself

my whole existence is flawed

Take Which
'fallen one' are you? Quiz by Xera
You're undeniable smart and inteligent. You love intelectual pursuits and other complicated matters.
People respect you and you tend to look down on them, since you are better....
Careful, you may fall because of your PRIDE, the first sin ever, and the same sin that cast down the used-to-be greatest angel, Lucifer.
w007! I'm Lucifer! ^_^ I like Lucifer, especially in Angel Sanctuary, which has to be quite possibly one of the most beautifully created mangas out there. Lucifer...Kira...yummy. *drools*
And what time is Smallville on now in Toronto? It's not on Wednesday and Smallville News said it's on Sunday @ 9 pm, but then the TV schedule says otherwise.
[Sunday, June 9, 2002 | 01:08 a.m.]
[Theme muzak: Xenosaga - Kokoro]
w007! I r0xx0r5! ^_^ (lol, 7h4nk5 blog buddies, kim, birdy, langey, kitch, for making me speak more l337 than ever before.) I just went through my hard drive and finally deleted about several G worth of useless mp3s and videos. I have about 6 G available on my HD now! ^_^ *hugs CPU* Considering I was living on 1 G before, I'm v. happy.
Now I don't need to ask/persuade/bully/threaten/blackmail my parents for another drive. Took me about three hours to consider what to keep and what to toss. *sigh* It was hard, considering I'd had some of the mp3s for years. People have childhood toys they can't throw away, I have mp3s. Yes, I'm very attached to useless things once I've had them for a while. And yes, I need help. =D
Finally got around to watching R.O.D. (spoilers ahead); it was pretty good, I have to admit. I love the music, quite ironically after birdy and kim just bought the OST on Friday, and especially the opening, with the whole hands things. The music itself isn't spectacular on its own, but is so appropriate for the scene that it makes everything much better. Kudos goes to the composer.
The animation style is pretty good and of the "new" style; the CGI don't blend seamlessly, but for an OVA production, it's all right unless you look closely. (Vandread was much worse.)
Voice acting: good, can't expect anything less from seiyuu. (Show me dub and die!)
Plot: Excellent, except too short. I know it's an OVA, but if they had stretched it out into a TV series, it would have been better with more character and plot development. I felt incredibly cheated at the lack of length. I really loved the whole organization bit with the codenames, special powers and anachronistic devices, customs and outfits. (Za Pepa! *lol*)
Characters: Yomiko aka The Paper aka Za Pepa! is a very interesting character. I would very much like someone to write a fanfic involving her past and what's going in her mind because she involves herself in books so much she shouldn't be able to interact socially very well. I don't think she should not be that optimistic and happy-go-lucky. I think she should be a delusional, seriously screwed up individual, but I guess the weight of her responsibilities and powers has grounded her a bit. But I do think her check bounced when she sent it in to Reality. Or it should have. Her obsession with books is kind of like mine but of course, she's a lot more extreme. But as a socially inept bookworm myself who buries herself in any sort of written material, I don't think she should be that...carefree. But then again, she's in so deep into fictional worlds created only by intangible, but substantial ideas and words, she can afford to be carefree, happy and smiling (and nauseatingly so, at times.) She is at times an airhead, but so happy and smiling and trusting that it's hard to dislike her.
Although she can be interpreted as a vulnerable, weak character with a much too trusting disposition, I don't think so. She's more like she treats people with extreme politeness (i.e. the numerous 'kudasai's to the people who tried to kill her.) and always does it with a smile. She reminds me of the perpetually smiling Seta Soujiro in Rurouni Kenshin, except she's "good" (using this term very tentatively.)
I like her and she's very interesting. I'd really like to know more about her past. Ooh...cosplay idea...
Joker: typical sub-head of organization. I like him even if he's very much a typical character I see most of the time in stories of any kind. However, I like his smiles, ability to twirl the phone effortlessly, crowded office (with personality and many books to boot) and need for tea at stressful times, a idiosyncrasy which I find oddly endearing.
Nancy: Again, typical traitor, except the whole split personality/body thing. That was interesting. The only thing I have a problem with is how is she in love with that scraggly-beared, emaciated stick? I don't see anything attractive in his personality, except maybe his resolve, and he had her killed, for fuck's sake! *sigh*
And was it just me or were there yuri overtones? Kiss on neck aside, since it was Evil!Nancy at that time and had practical purpose, everything else was kind of...um...you know.
Now have desperate urge to persuade ISA friends that cosplaying R.O.D. is a good idea...(wanna be The Paper! ^_^)

Oh. My. God.
They say that "they" (an unspecified they, I am assuming Smallville owners/producers/whatever) are actually auctioning off stuff from the set. Excerpt below:
05.08.02 SMALLVILLE AUCTION ITEMS ~ An update ~
They have decided to auction off the following items: Whitney's red/yellow jacket, one of Lex's black trenchcoats, ironbox that carried Lana's necklace, Lana's earrings in Nicodemis and more. They will be auctioning these items in August. The approximate date is still being decided but most likely before the second season begins. Check back for more information.
I would kill to get Lex's black trenchcoat. Considering it's Lex's, black, and a trenchcoat, it's everything I want and more. Of course, I could never wear it since Michael Rosenbaum is 5'11" and I'm nowhere near his height, but I would nevertheless die to have it. I want it very, very badly. *drools* Black trenchcoat...Lex...
k...langey, save the one you want to your hard drive. Go to YourSigHost.Com and sign up w/ an account. Then you can load it up to YSH and then with the URL YSH gives you once you've uploaded your pic, put the URL into your Personal Photo URL at "Edit Profile" at your ezboard control center. It'll show up after your next post.

Summer vacation is a bloody wonderful thing. ^_^ The sleep is the best part. It just hit me that I don't have to do anything. Usually, I had to work on a project, an essay, a paragraph, or something, but now, I don't have anything to do. ^_____________^ 5w337, I am happy!
Only the shadows of my upcoming exam marks haunt me. I am afraid. I am very afraid.
ruri, you said you wanted an icon for the message board right? Well...I have two of them, both of black cats, and I think it'd fit your evil kitty nature *grin* so take a look. If you like 'em, tell me.
Have discovered YourSigHost.Com, which is a service that hosts sigs. It's hosting mine right now. I like. =D
I really need to watch R.O.D. and I didn't get to last night b/c I was reading Mac Hall, fanfics and other things that took up a lot of my time until 4 am for some reason. And I was playing Solitare on my computer. Solitaire rots your brain under the pretense of improving your mental thought processes. Don't ask. I was obviously high at that moment. High on what is the question I should ask myself.

It has come to my attention that the mission changes every so often. Interesting...

[Theme muzak: Placebo - Nancy Boy]
V.g. day, except for morning b/c my family kept on trying to wake me up at ungodly hours. Finally woke up as in actually getting up from my bed at noon. ^_^ Spent day at P Mall with birdy, kimsie, kitch, and langey. *hugs all* So good to see you all! Birdy bought her bf, Vorpy, a Totoro that vibrates. (Which amused us all endlessly, since it moved as it vibrated.) No..not for that purpose. ^_^ Then we went to a bubble tea place that didn't like us carving into the table, which was pretty carved into anyway. Then, we went to the arcade, and there was...
*pause* Initial D Arcade Stage
I went crazy when I saw it. It was IniD Arcade Stage. I squealed in joy. Or screamed. I don't remember, except I was very happy. ^_______^ And they had Biohazard (Resident Evil) Code Veronica. ^_^ IniD the game was absolutely wicked b/c they really had the routes, drivers, cars, and the music. They played "Grand Prix" and "Don't Stop the Music" for the races that I watched. The guys who played were obviously drivers and drifted pretty well. Nothing like the anime, of course. That absolutely made my day.
Then we got card pictures. Finally, I have one of my friends at BSS. Then kitch and langey had to go. ;_; *hugs* Then birdy, kimsie, and me sat outside in the parking lot near the steeles bus stop near some abandoned shopping cars for on the curb for 20 minutes for some reason. Was nice. Then birdy and kimsie bought the R.O.D=. OST, one for each of them. Got the R.O.D. OVA from langey. Thankies! ^_^ Then we went to my house and birdy nearly fainted when she saw my room. *lol* We watched Kodomo no Omocha, which scared birdy, since Sana...is too intense and has a high voice. Then we got panicky about langey, since her mum called to say she wasn't home and we all got wondering about what happened to her. We thought she was lost, but it turned out she was just at French lessons. *hugs* Scared the hell out of us, but she was ok.
Fun fun fun day. ^_____^ Now must go watch R.O.D.!

I am Chicken Little!
title at kelly.moranweb.com.
Watched Memento. It was so good. I now bow down to Christopher Nolan's genius because it did everything it was supposed to and kept me on the edge of my seat for ages and ages. Absolutely incredible. It was like a maze you could get out of because everything repeated and you thought you found the solution, but it wasn't. It was completely unpredictable, beautifully macabre and twisted, kind of like an industrial steel sculpture that's dirty-gray and dull, but its beauty is inherent in its shape, not the aesthetics. Basically, go see it if you like films that screw with your brain.
This is one of my choices for The Mind-Fuck of the 20th and 21st Centuries. Among them include Serial Experiments Lain, Perfect Blue, my Media class, The Handmaid's Tale by Margeret Atwood, and a few other books, movies and animes which I don't remember at the moment.
Have resolved to cut down on swearing. Even if it is fun to play with words and make up new offensive ones, it is technically socially unacceptable. Will allow myself swear words only when in states of highly uncontrolled emotion.
Which just so happens to be a lot of the time.
Have feeling will break resolution v. quickly. ^^;;
Kim: have seen langley's evil kitty side. Is eerily cute and frightening at the same time. =P

[Theme muzak: Matchbox Twenty - 3 AM]
Finished Finite exam. Absolutely brutal. *droops* Got 3 hours of sleep last night, had to drink full cup of coffee, and now my stomach is acting up. It always happens when I drink coffee too early. Can't live with it, can't live without it.
Wish I had Caffeinated Soap instead. Maybe that would have worked.
I'm still tired. I feel like I've been wrung like a towel and I really feel sick. Ugh.
Only good thing: No more exams!!! sw33t! ^_^
Bai bai, I need to pass out now. *thump*
Chibi!Clark: *prods lump on floor*
Chibi!Lex: *prods lump on floor*
Chibi!Harry: *prods lump on floor*
Chibi!Draco: *kicks lump on floor*
*wakes up violently*
Chibi!Muses: Wasn't me! It was him! *various finger pointing*
*snarls* Next chibi that touches me becomes normal-sized, shoved into too small leather pants and thrown into a locked room full of rabid, fanfic-deprived fangirls.
Chibi!Muses: *whimper*
*passes out again*

[Theme muzak: Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up]
I missed Smallville. Damnit! I was so caught up in replying to the ISA message board that I missed it. *sniff* I haven't actually watched most episodes of SV, since I only started watching religiously during "Stray" and only got glimpses of "Hourglass", "Nicodemus" and "Leech". The episode was probably "Hothead". I'll have to ask the twins.
birdy: the P-Mall thing is on Friday. Call i lang or she'll find you on Thursday for details. And I will concede now that Tidus is indeed hot. In a strangely always smiling kind of way. Each to her own, I suppose.
langley: Put down knife, please? *lol* Yes! Must mug Greg! (And bleach his hair while he doesn't realize it.)
[Wednesday, June 5, 2002 | 03:44 p.m.]
[Theme muzak: Greenwheel - Breathe]
Hm. Just woke up. Have tutoring lesson today. Must study for Finite. Ugh.
17 I act like I'm 17. This test was brought to you by James - Part of the David and James phenomenon. Take it here.
Hm. Immaturity issues, I suppose. Closest thing to accurate, so far, from any online test.
Birdy: Tidus. Hot? I'm sorry, that sounds like a contradiction. Now, Sephiroth is hot. Mmmm...Sephy...
Yay! Have moderator status! Bwahahahaha...onward, fellow dictators!
langley: You have Mr. Hu? I had him too, in grade 5 and 6. Cheer up, btw. *hugs*

[Theme muzak: Electric Soft Parade - Silent to the Dark]
I was sickeningly Canadian in my previous post. I get like that sometimes, especially after watching beer commercials and reading funny pro-Canadian stuff.
Proud to be Canadian. So much that I constantly refuse to apply to Harvard or Yale because I'd be forced to practice law in the US if I managed to get in, which is a lovely joke that people always say to me, but I can bever forumlate a reply to because I always end up laughing in their face. (i.e., my sister.)

test by Leanne which CCS character are you?
Want To Know Which Element You Are?
You are Water!
Stuck between the sky and the ground, you lack
the sudden impulse that Air has but are unable to root yourself down like Earth. Though you have troubles
finishing projects, people can depend on you for the most part (even if it means pulling a few all-nighters).
On the plus side, you are extremely adaptable and thus can adjust to any situation. Sure, you might not like
it, but it doesn't weigh you down.
Best Match: Fire, just enough 'oomph' to keep your interest.
Worst Match: Spirit, you'll be out the door before they make up their minds.
Streea wasted a bunch of time making this test.

[Theme muzak: Remy Zero - Perfect Memory]
Remy Zero is starting to get on my nerves... grrrrr...
andrea, of course you can come. Come laugh w/ us at ParaPara ppl and DDR fanatics. ^_^ Bwhahahahahaha humiliation ahead! (Yes, I'm mean. I should be ashamed of myself. I'm not. =P) I'm thinking we could make it an ISA reps thing w/ some ISA non-rep ppl (since I need to see Kim and langley. Check the ISA message board. Me, Crescent, Branksome and langley are bonding. ^_^ Could you give us lowly mortal reps moderator status as well, if possible?
Heard that acquaintance/friend, either Emily or Evelyn (they're twins) has gotten into Richard Ivy (Ivey? sp?)! ^_^ I'm happy for her, although I haven't seen her in a long, long time. V. long time, in fact. Hm.
Borrowed indiscreetly from a friend of a friend's blog.
SO, WHAT DO CANADIANS HAVE TO BE PROUD OF?
1. Smarties
2. Crispy Crunch, Coffee Crisp
3. The size of our footballs fields and one less down
4. Baseball is Canadian
5. Lacrosse is Canadian
6. Hockey is Canadian
7. Basketball is Canadian
8. Apple pie is Canadian
9. Mr. Dress-up kicks Mr. Rogers ass
10. Tim Hortons kicks Dunkin' Donuts ass [My note: YEAH! Iced Caps, baby! Timbits! ^_^]
11. In the war of 1812, started by America, Canadians pushed the Americans back...past their 'White House'. Then we burned it...and most of Washington, under the command of William Lyon McKenzie who was insane and hammered all the time. We got bored because they ran away, so we came home and partied...Go figure..
12. Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany. [My note: Also the largest French population who occasionally can be more annoying than the French dudes in Monty Python's The Holy Grail.]
13. We have the largest English population that never ever surrendered or withdrew during any war to anyone, anywhere.
14. Our civil war was a bar fight that lasted a little over an hour.
15. The only person who was arrested in our civil war was an American mercenary, who slept in and missed the whole thing... but showed up just in time to get caught.
16. We knew plaid was cool far before Seattle caught on.
17. The Hudsons Bay Company once owned over 10% of the earth's surface and is still around as the worlds oldest company.
18. The average dog sled team can kill and devour a full grown human in under 3 minutes.
19. We still know what to do with all the parts of a buffalo.
20. We don't marry our kin-folk.
21. We invented ski-doos, jet-skis, velcro, zippers, insulin, penicillin, zambonis, the telephone and short wave radios that save countless lives each year.
22. We ALL have frozen our tongues to something metal and lived to tell about it. [My note: Just did that with side of mouth and cold spoon.]
23. A Canadian invented Superman. [my note: YEAH! Without that Canadian, CLex slash, would not exist. I would like to take this moment to thank the dude who I've seen on Heritage Moments Canada for inventing Superman, even though I know he didn't invent it so that I could read/think up unmentionable things between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor. =D]
BUT MOST IMPORTANT!
24. The handles on our beer cases are big enough to fit your hands with mitts on. OOOoohhhhh Canada!!
Added by moi:
25. Our beer commercials make us patriotic. What 'bout yours?
26. We honk in the streets after we win a hockey game and party like we've won the Stanley Cup down at Yonge St. Our youth happen to be included in the partying.
27. Two words: Barenaked Ladies.
28. A Canadian invented the precusor to the mouse. Yeah, that clicky-movable thingy that you're using right now. Uh huh. You wouldn't be computer-literate w/o it.
29. We had a Prime Minister who did a pirouette behind the Queen of England and got away w/ it. Said PM also did canonballs into swimming pools and was so popular women worshipped him like the Beetles.
30. We have this site. Just a joke, honestly. not. (They also get hate mail from Americans and other countries. 'Nuff said. Read-worthy. In a way. ^_^)
31. We have no pretentious need to lay claim to multiple colours for our flag. Red and white is enough for us, thankyouverymuch.
32. We use the letter 'u' more frequently. We also have respect for it.
33. Molson Canadian just invented a mini-keg w/ 14 beers in it for retail sale. We have brought chugging and beer-drinking to a new level.
34. When someone invented the word multiculturalism, the Americans might have pasted it nicely above the sign of their country's name in Washington DC and NYC, but we plastered it all over our country like mad. And it just happpens we're more multicultural than the US.
I'm proud to be Canadian. V^_^V
And no, I don't end my verbal sentences with an eh all the time. On occasion when I'm asking a question, yes. But all the time. No.
And no, I don't live in an igloo, although it may feel like in June. Yes. In June. In Toronto.
Must stay awake to watch Memento... *zzzzzz*

[Theme muzak: John Mayer - No Such Thing]
Did English exam, not too bad. I hoped I did decently.
Watched Horatio Hornblower (*giggles* A mixture of Biggerstaff and VSD [Horn of Gondor: Property of Boromir. Would you like to have a blow at it?]) and finally understand Britt's involvement with Archie/Horatio slash. ^^ So incredibly how sad he died... *sniff* I see the subtext...
Damnit. Now I need to see Horatio Hornblower. *giggles* Sorry, can't help it anymore. Will just say "Horatio" from now on, or I'll collapse in fits of laughter anytime anyone says "Ho--
Not saying it. *lol*
Various funny things. FFX pants. Scarily and fagaliciously Tidus.
Especially for the DDRers and FOBs, but not necessarily only for them: Dance Dance Resurrection.
And then truly frightening: Dance Dance Karnov.
Finally, Lana should win a Darwin Award for her little stunt in the truck in the tornado and various other things. (I really, really hope she wins one.) ^_^

[Theme muzak: Lifehouse - Everything]
Omigod. QaF so good. Predictable and soap opera-ish, but v.g.
High points:
1) When Debbie spent time w/ Ben
2) When Brian comforted Michael in the hospital corridor
3) When Ethan was playing on the street corner (included: whenever Ethan was playing his violin, period.)
4) When Justin said, "I came for my song."
5) When Emmett tore up the check.
A lot more high points but I also found out who plays Ethan. Fabrizio Filippo plays Ethan, who was Scott Hope in Buffy, the guy who gave her a ring similar to the one Angel gave her. Then = geek. Now = unutterably hot. ^_^

langley, yup, I wanna get together w/ you guys, but not nececssarily at P Mall, but we can laugh at the ppl doing ParaPara. Mean, but fun. ^_^ We should make it an impromptu ISA reps (and school's club heads) meeting. I could maybe hold it at my house, but I live near First Markham so I don't know if ppl can get there (not accessible by bus or subway). I do have a DVD player and we could walk out for food or get Kim to drive us to First Markham. But I definitely need to see you, Kim and Andrea sometime b/c I haven't in the longest time. I'll be v. hyper, I promise. ^____^
I did my World History exam today. *assumes Ewan McGregor Trainspotting accent* My essay: UTTER CRAPSHITE!!! SHITE, I tell you! *assumes regular Canadian tone* So yeah, I suck.
Tomorrow, English and on Thursday, Finite, then I'm finished!!! Then, next Tuesday, I get my exam marks back and I get to see how badly I did.
Wheee...off to watch QaF! ^_^

[Theme muzak: Dido - Slide]
Today is my grandma's b-day! ^_^ Stuck studying World History (bloody hell!) but I don't care too much about it. All I want is above 80. I hope I pass at the very least...
Stayed up until 4 am last night...this morning. Don't know why, was just not tired enough. Didn't wake up until 2 pm and then remembered had math tutoring. Called up ride, ride freaked out thinking I didn't have tutoring. Then got called at 3 by tutoring place to ask why I wasn't there. Major confusion b/c I thought it was 4:20, they said it was 2:40 and they're always changing the bloody time back and forth. Argh! So, no Finite studying today, focusing solely on history. Ugh.

Arrrrggghhh... *fans herself* So bloody hot in my room. Damnit.
Should turn off source of heat in room. Am not going to.
Chibi!Lex: Get a laptop, for fuck's sake.
I would dearly like to do so and get rid of this monstrous 19" monitor and CPU, but some of us aren't as rich as you are.
Chibi!Lex: *rolls eyes*
My computer is my room's heating unit. It's brilliant in the winter but in the summer, it's the most annoying piece of junk. Ugh.

Calm and cool, you're not really an ANIME character, but what the hey...you're cool, so here you are. You are driven, have a purpose, and have problems with your family. You love your mommy (Jenova) and you hate your daddy (Hojo), but you will get even, RETURN TO THE PLANET! You have some MAD SKILLZ when it comes to combat, but you're kinda mixed up in the head...
ReverseBlade!
Speaking of Sephiroth (Yumminess Incarnate), Bishink just posted the last chapter of "Bloodlines", part of their bloody amazing FF7 fic series. It's not a "normal" fic series w/ chapters, but is a series of short/medium length fics joined together by the universe in which they are written in. Some parts further back in the timeline haven't been completed, while others later are finished. It's excellent and is the only real FF7 fic universe I follow. And it's the only time I like ShinRa b/c they are a warm, loving family. I could just cuddle Rufus b/c he's so bloody adorable at times. And it makes me like Elena/Reeve and Rufus/Tseng. ^_^

[Theme muzak: Placebo - Special K]
Warning: Serious (as in mood and length) ranting ahead
There's an interesting discussion going on at John's LJ about homosexuality and religion called "Queer Rant".
It's been a pretty heated debate and much argument about "Straight Pride", mistranslation of the Bible, the "Straight Handbook", and other issues.
Just my two cents:
1) All generalizations are false. (Why? Because there's always going to be something or someone that doesn't fit into the trend. i.e. not all Christians are bigots and not all Muslims are terroists.)
2) Bigotry, racism, and prejudice are all pretty horrible things that exist in this world because it is what society has bred into us. I'm pretty open to almost anything, but I still have my prejudices and I dislike myself when idiotic, stupid, hateful thoughts pop up (and they do). People are bigoted or prejudiced because it was the way they were brought up; society has simply instilled values into them that you may disagree with, but social conditioning is incredibly difficult to get over, even if logic tells you the other way. It doesn't mean that they can't change, but some people won't change because they don't have the willpower or don't want to change.
Change is the most frightening thing out there, even to the most progressive of people and especially in this topsy-turvy world of thousands of beliefs, values, religions, and cultures. People want to confirm that their way is the right way. People want to know what is right, what is true, what is real, but no one knows. NO ONE KNOWS. Reality is merely something that humans have carved out for themselves. We struggle to find out what is truth, but truth and reality just may not exist. People know that there are so many different views out there that they don't know which one to choose or which one is "right" or the "truest", so they grab what they know and cling onto it like a lifesaver. These absolutists only know blacks and whites of areas, ignoring hermeneutics, different points of view, and the grays because they're afraid that they'll be thrown into a tornado of vastly different beliefs and never find out what's right.
To be honest, nothing is "right". Nothing is "natural". There are things that are "normal" (i.e. much of Western civilization believes that heterosexuality is "normal"), but nothing is natural because everything's a social construction, a thing that humans inject social implications into and take for granted that it was always meant to be like that. Whatever we assume is right (i.e. having pets) is simply what society (us) thinks is normal at the moment. For example, in the future having pets might become an inhumane practice of imprisioning and domesticating independent creatures whose intelligences are equal to ours, similar to how Western civilization had imprisoned Africans as slaves, believing them animals and inhuman.
That's why some people are opposed to things like abortions, homosexuality, atheism because it disagrees with their notion of "natural". Society has bred them to think of certain things as unquestionable norms because humans need confirmation that things are constant. Without continuity and connection, people could go insane. And when people are reassured that things are constant, they assume that it's the right/normal/natural thing that's supposed to happen and it'll continue happening like that. It's a human instinct and it's probably the most difficult thing anyone can do, rebelling against the views that are intangible and that have been impressed into a mind since birth.
Even though I'm saying that changing people is hard, I'm not saying "Give up." Giving up is not the way to go. Change is going to happen, no matter what you think and it's slow. There's no way to speed up change, especially change in society, people and people's minds because there are so many people and you don't know if it really works (these are just a few reasons). We should fight hate, prejudice, and bigotry because negative feelings are taught, not born into a person and people don't have to grow up with negative feelings eating away them.
So really what was that long, obnoxious rant about? Homophobia is prejudice, bigotry and hate, which are all diseases that wreak havoc in the person having the feelings and the person/people it's directed against. And what I'm saying to the those people who are homophobic and assume that hetereosexuality is natural is that you need a wake-up call. Homosexuality isn't unnatural, it's merely not the widely accepted norm at the moment. There's no higher being who's omniscent and omnipotent and has given heterosexuality the seal of approval and homosexuality a big red X. It's just humanity's attempt at reality, which has more than a few flaws, which is just human.
Please note that what I've said above is merely my opinion. I know it may not be the truth. My truth is merely my perspective and you have your own, so there's a lot of truth out there. It's all how you look at it. "Perspective is everything."
Note: Cheers to Marc Hall, the gay Oshawa Catholic school student that got to his high school prom after his school denied him permission to bring his boyfriend, Jean-Paul Dumond. He went to court and got several injunctions; this is just the beginning of his fight and will take more than a few years and will probably go to the Supreme Court of Canada. I hope he wins and he deserves major congratulations (and less media interference with his private life) for having the courage and integrity to actually ask his school to go with his boyfriend. V^_^V
